Facade - Before
& After |
| The
side facade of the existing house was low and dark. There
were minimal windows facing the preserve on the first floor
and no exposure to that side on the second floor. |
|
 |
| The
new house sits on top of the old foundations except for the
five foot extension of the new Living/Dining Room space that
has large windows facing the nature preserve. This was the
maximum extension allowable given the wetlands ordinances
in Scarsdale. On top of the extension is a deck off of the
Master Bedroom and Study/Guest Room which have large sliding
doors to maximize the views into the woods. The triple dormer
on top of the house is for the third floor Recreation Room.
On top of the house is the clerestory that illuminates the
center of the house. |
