'BEFORE & AFTER"
Contemporary Kitchen
This room was the family room. The kids have grown up and the family wanted to have a large eat-in-kitchen with easy access to the deck and rear yard. Pictures below show how the entire corner of the breakfast area opens up to outside as either a fully open room (french doors fold away) or a screened porch (concealed screens roll down from the ceiling).
The owners wanted the new space to be very light. Cabinets, floor tile and painted walls and ceiling are all shades of white. The dark kitchen island, dark breakfast table and metal hood and appliances are used as contrasting elements against the bright background.
See "Contemporary Interiors" project for pictures of the rest of the first floor renovation.
