"BEFORE & AFTER"
1870's Victorian Interiors
This diamond-in-the-rough Victorian had much going for it including interesting architectural details and a large yard. But, the rooms were small, the layout had poor flow and there was limited access to the big, side yard. By removing walls and switching the location of the dining and family rooms, we created a contemporary, open first floor layout. By adding a wrap-around porch, mudroom addition and new doors and exterior stairs, we created easy access to the side and rear yards. Now the house is full of light and all the first floor spaces flow into one another with the new stair at the center.
On the second floor two bedrooms were combined to create a Master Suite. On the third floor, the hall ceiling was raised and a new skylight and dormer flood the hall and stair with light.
The project is a complete gut renovation of all three floors with a new kitchen, all new bathrooms, new mechanicals including a geothermal system and new insulation throughout.
